A great set of movies!
This fantastic DVD set contains all of the great Wallace and Gromit adventures. The first disk has the three wonderful shorts:
1) A Grand Day Out (first released in 1991) - When Wallace runs out of cheese, he decides that he must spend his vacation gathering more. Now, what place is synonymous with cheese? Why the Moon, of course! And so, with the long-suffering Gromit in tow, Wallace sets out to get some of that Moon-cheese.
2) The Wrong Trousers (first released in 1993) - After Wallace gets Gromit the latest thing, a pair of Techno-Trousers to take him on walks, he suddenly finds that his finances need a boost. But, when the new boarder shows up, he turns out to be a penguin with a secret - he's really the notorious thief Feathers McGraw! Feathers sees a real opportunity with Wallace and the Techno-Trousers, but he needs Gromit out of the way.
3) A Close Shave (first released in 1995) - When Wallace meets Wendolene Ramsbottom, it's love at first sight. But, there's a wool shortage caused by the activities of a sheep-rustler, and Wendolene has a secret. There's a Frankenstein's monster on the trail of Wallace and Gromit, and it will take brains (oops!) and a lot of luck to see them through this adventure!
And the second disk has that masterpiece of British animation - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005). Wallace, and the longsuffering Gromit have started on a new career, humane pest (rabbit) control. Wallace's love of gadgetry, and Gromit's intelligent hard work have combined to make the business a success, but with the Tottington Hall vegetable competition coming up, our heroes will have to work extra hard to keep the little varmints in check. However, when a voracious were-rabbit hits the scene, their powers will be tested to the limit...and beyond!
This is a great set of movies! It has everything you could want in an animated series - monsters, villains, gunplay, skiing robots, sheep, toy train chases (you have to see it to believe it!), automobile chases, frolicking rabbits, and, of course, cheese. My children and I love these DVDs, and we highly recommend it to you!
Wallace and Gromit are great!
We loved getting the packaged set of Curse of the W'ere Rabbit and the three Adventures of @W & G. They have been very fun movies to watch. We love how Gromit is so expressive, even though he doesn't say anything! His expressions and movements really make the humor and he is a good sidekick for Wallace. If you like humor, clean fun, and claymation animation, these are the movies for you!
My son loves this video.
This is such a great dvd set. My son loves it. He can watch it over & overs.
Claymation Rules!
Claymation walks the line between two-dimensional animation and real-world, three-dimensional stuff. And a delightful interface it is too. Wallace and Gromit are about as charming a twosome as anyone could dream up. That they are oh so British to boot only adds to the pleasure of watching the stories unfold. If you have seen a bit of claymation and what it can do or you are just curious to see what the buzz is all about, this collection is a great place to start. You get several different stories to play with and they are just as much fun the second time around. Very creative stuff indeed!
NLopez
I enjoyed them both, and I recommend them to those who enjoy what Wallace & Gromit do. But I felt that it wasn't as good as Chicken Run, which I also own, I think They needed a better story line up to the standard that was used in Chicken Run. Still I look forward to what else They will attemp to do.
