Editorial Reviews and DVD Information about Ultraman Tiga: Fugitive from Beyond

Description
When the evil alien Muzan transforms into a monstrous creature even too powerful for the GUTS team, Ultraman Tiga must step in to face this monstrous foe. A new generation of the man-eating monster Gazoto has returned and it's more powerful than ever. When a giant mountain-troll awakens, Ultraman Tiga tag-teams with an ancient samurai to destroy it. An evil alien is abducting Earthlings to use as human batteries to power his spaceship. Ultraman Tiga's original enemy Golza returns. A giant, explosive robot will obliterate the planet unless Ultraman Tiga can stop it. Ultraman Tiga's biotic sensor stops flashing! Is he gone for good? A disappearing monster is terrorizing the planet with a purple mist that turns ordinary people into destructive psychos. Traveling in a mysterious fog, an alien swarm of pimpled bloodsuckers transform a peaceful town into mind-controlled zombie nation. A gigantic monster emerges from underground and traps an amusement park within an invisible dome. Kilalien is back, and this time he's brought an evil cloud of darkness with him. Disguised as a loving angel who reunites estranged families, Kilalien brainwashes the citizens of Earth, uniting them against Ultraman Tiga.

Customer Reviews for Ultraman Tiga: Fugitive from Beyond

Guilty pleasure
At first I thought I was getting the original series, but this is new, no "Hyata becomes...Ultraman!". But it's still pretty good, as guys rolling around in rubber suits goes.Ultraman Tiga: Fugitive from Beyond

A Guilty Pleasure
I love this stuff...you probably do too if you're reading this. A big thanks to Funimation and 4Kids for bringing this to the U.S. on not only the FoxBox (sadly, for only a few months during 2002-2003) but now on DVD without the dubbing. In case you caught the FoxBox show, you might be glad to know that the DVD's of the show feature more video/story/action, because on FoxBox they cut it down somewhat to make room for their special promos. I don't agree with some people who say the FoxBox dubbing was atrocious...maybe Captain Iruma's American voice was miscast, and she came across as kind of an idiot with the new dubs, but most of the rest of the voice casting was pretty good, and I have to admit they came up with some pretty funny stuff. Also, their theme song was way better than the J-pop theme. But I'm perfectly happy with the DVD release with all of the original audio and subtitles. Horii is still funny. It would sound ridiculous to dub in English the Japanese dialog verbatim, but with the subtitling it works. If you're a Mio Takagi fan (Captain Iruma) you'll particularly like episodes 3 and 25 (of the ones I've seen) but most of the episodes are pretty enjoyable with a great cast. Don't expect consistent "Independence Day"-quality special effects, but many of the SFX are quite good.Ultraman Tiga: Fugitive from Beyond

A Must Have
These DVDs are a must have for any Ultraman fan. These eps are full length, with or without subtitles and the original Japanese soundtrack. For as long as we here in the US have waited for this, 4Kids and Funimation deserve a big thanks.

The only knit picky thing would be the extras. There is a monster gallery with only 3 of the monsters shown. who cares??

If you are a fan of Ultraman, Space Giants, Johnny Sokko or Godzilla you owe it to yourself to get the entire series.Ultraman Tiga: Fugitive from Beyond
