Editorial Reviews and DVD Information about Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers

Description
TaiChiBaby.com proudly releases this new Tai Chi DVD for pregnancy. Tai Chi, popular in Europe and Asia, is gaining U.S. media attention as a beneficial exercise alternative to yoga and pilates. Tai chi is non-impact, slow moving and done while standing making it safe and gentle enough for women who have never exercised and pregnant women in all trimesters.

Tai Chi exercise has been clinically proven to counter balance some of the common side effects of pregnancy. It checks excessive weight gain, relieves back pain, reduces swelling in the hands and feet, and prevents high blood pressure. Most significantly, it reduces the incident of falling down, a very common and dangerous pregnancy problem.

Pregnant women who practice Tai Chi report feeling stronger, more energized, and less stressed about the many changes in lifestyle brought about by pregnancy.

The DVD contains a complete whole body work-out combining Tai Chi, self massage and deep breathing meditation techniques to strengthen and relax the body while calming the mind to reduce feelings of stress.

It is one of the highest quality independently produced pregnancy fitness DVDs released to date. It features: beautiful Feng Shui set designs; original Zen style music written for Tai Chi practice; three different camera angles and close ups for the best view possible; and a well studied, experienced instructor to assure you get an authentic foundation in your practice.

Additional highlights include:

A convenient option for turning the voice over instruction on or off;

Visual options for exercising with the assistance of a chair if needed;

A complete outline of safe conditions for practice with visual instructional diagrams; and

A special bonus features menu which includes a documentary about the history & philosophy of Tai Chi, the benefits of acupuncture for morning sickness, and more.

Customer Reviews for Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers

great workout, poor dvd quality
Loved this workout to begin with but DVD started freezing/skipping after only 2 months. Tried cleaning it with dvd cleaner, that didn't help. I bought a couple other pregnancy workout DVDs but this was my favorite and it was also more expensive than the others. It skips less when I play it on my laptop but impossible to use in either of my two regular dvd players.Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers

Excellent DVD for all Mothers
This is an excellent DVD for pregnant mamas. No impact and very relaxing and soothing. I have had four children and tried many of the other prenatal exercise DVDs and this is by far my favorite. Beth's voice is very soothing and relaxing. The set is very different and realistic as opposed to the fake sets of some other videos. I highly recommend this video to my doula and childbirth education clients and would recommend it to YOU!Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers

Neck and Shoulder Pain
I got this DVD because I needed to do something to reduce neck and shoulder pain. I also needed something that would be low impact since I haven't done any type of regular exercise for several years. This DVD is exactly what I needed. The routine does a great job of stretching out/loosening up my problems areas. If I come home from work with a neck and shoulder ache, I can always count on this DVD to come to the rescue. I also appreciate the calming, de-stressing effects of the routine at the end of the day. I highly recommend this DVD and it's not just for the pregnant.Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers

Not Tai Chi and poor sound
For one thing, it's not Tai Chi in any recognizable form. What it is, is a slow, repetitive series of moves derived from the traditional series of Tai Chi moves. I didn't find it to be of any muscular or cardio benefit at all. If you want to meditate, then buy something of that nature, because this doesn't fulfill that criteria, either. Plus, the DVD warns you that it isn't up to par for surround sound and so should rely on TV audio instead. Since this wasn't an inexpensive DVD it seemed that they overly skimped on the production quality despite the premium pricing.

Highly Recommend this DVD
I got this DVD based on the reviews and I'm glad I bought it. I feel really energized and relaxed after doing the tai chi. I thought the interviews on the special features menu about tai chi was interesting and learned a lot about what makes tai chi so different than anything else I have tried. I feel like I'm doing something really healthy for myself and my baby when I'm doing this DVD. Well worth it. Good buy.Tai Chi For Expecting Mothers
