The Super Bowl XL DVD is a detailed recap of the Pittsburgh Steelers' run to the championship. However, it's a step below most 21st-century Super Bowl DVDs in that the bulk of the material focuses on the Steelers' 2005-2006 season as a whole, with only 17 minutes of the three hours devoted to actual Super Bowl game footage. The main program is a 73-minute rundown of the season's highs and lows, peaking of course in the playoffs and the final showdown with the Seattle Seahawks. Highlighting the bonus material is a 45-minute Game of the Week on the playoff game between the Steelers and Indianapolis Colts, which means there's a lot more time devoted to that second-round game than to the Super Bowl itself. That's not necessarily a bad thing, because it was a better-played game with a thrilling ending. The other notable bonus feature is the 14-minute halftime performance by the Rolling Stones. Additional material includes "wired" segments by coach Bill Cowher and running back Jerome Bettis, Bettis's on-field post-game retirement announcement, stories on running back Willie Parker and Steelers history by NFL Films' Steve Sabol, Media Day interviews (only of the Steelers, and controversial linebacker Joey Porter has nothing interesting to say here), and a variety of NFL commercials. Great DVD!
I just love this DVD! A lot of fans of this DVD are not happy that it focuses a lot on Jerome Bettis but I have no problem with that. I also like that a lot of time was spent on the Colts playoff game that was the highlight of the Steelers season. The fact that they didn't spend more than 17 minutes on the Superbowl didn't bother me either. If the DVD had shown any more it would have had to include some of those horrible officiating calls against the Seahawks and I don't want to be reminded of that. It would leave viewers wondering why Hines Ward won the MVP award instead of the officials. I prefer to believe we actually won the Superbowl instead of having it handed to us. Great DVD!

Hi lites only of the Superbowl game?!
Man, the NFL screwed up on this production. The Super Bowl is not shown in its entirety, in fact all they gave us was hi lites. But they gave us the entire Indy/Steeler game instead? Not the Superbowl
I rented this DVD so I could finally watch the game that I missed a year ago, which my parents were supposed to tape for me but they didn't. I was severely disappointed because it only shows a few highlights and not the whole game. I need to find a copy of the whole game somewhere so I can finally watch it. I've been a Steeler fan for 28 years, and this was a long time in coming. I didn't see it because I don't watch television on the Lord's Day. Quit crying Seahawk fans
Despite other opinions that were made about the game Steelers deserve to win. Anyone who knows the game or played the game, know that in order to score a touchdown the entire ball has to do is cross the goal line. When Big Ben was in the air the ball was on the goal line and even though he was pushed back. In football, they call that forward progress and that's why the play wasn't over turned. Even if the refs miss a call or two, one call doesn't determine the out come of a football game. The Seattle Seahawks had just as many opportunities to win the game as Pittsburgh. The difference was that the Steelers were able to execute and the Seahawks didn't. You can also add to the fact that Detroit is only 300 miles from Pittsburgh and Seattle is 3000 miles, which made this somewhat a home game for Pittsburgh. The bottom line is that the Refs didn't loose this game for Seattle, the Seahawks loss this game by themselves and they have no one to blame but themselves.NFL Super Bowl XL - Pittsburgh Steelers Championship DVD
