Editorial Reviews and DVD Information about A Touch of Frost - Season 5

Description
"A Touch of Frost is one of the best crime dramas to come out of Britain…"—The Toronto Sun A Touch of Frost is one of Britain’s most successful detective series and stars award-winning actor David Jason as Detective Inspector Jack Frost, a policeman with a knack for attracting trouble. Set in the dreary town of Denton, Frost approaches each case with his characteristic dry wit and a sense of moral justice. A Touch of Frost Season 5 includes: "Penny for the Guy" – Two boys go missing and one of the youths is found murdered. When the owner of a large supermarket chain agrees to pay the kidnapped boy’s ransom, the police get involved and the plot fails. Time is running out for the kidnapped boy and Frost is frustrated by the lack of evidence needed to make an arrest. "House Calls" – A face from the past may be responsible for a series of assaults on children. But, for once, sentimentality dictates Frost’s actions. The result is a nightmare scenario that leaves Frost going to extraordinary lengths to vindicate himself, the investigation and his career. "True Confessions" – A man’s church confession provides insight into what may be a straightforward case of matrimonial murder. But, before Frost can arrest the killer, he is suspended due to the outcome of a related case from a decade ago. "No Other Love" – All families have secrets, but perhaps none so shocking as that which Frost unearths when he investigates the brutal murder of Peter Lawson. To make matters worse, Frost finds himself without a partner when DC Barnard is killed.

Customer Reviews for A Touch of Frost - Season 5

Execelent when the DVD works!
A Touch of Frost is one of my favorite "Who Done It" Sleuths. I have purchased over 50 complete seasons of this and other series. The problem - at least a third of the discs freeze up and won't complete. Imagine the
frustration of getting into a mystery and not being able to see the ending! I have rechecked the discs on other players and on several computers. It definably is the discs. And amazon.com will only refund 50%
since the package was opened.
A Touch of Frost - Season 5

Good Police Show
If you like British made police shows you will like this series but if you like all the guns and car chases of the American kind, then you probably will not.A Touch of Frost - Season 5

Another Gem...
David Janson gives his normal high proformances in this series of "A Touch of Frost". A very tough, sad last episode will put you into a quandary as to what is coming next season. Do not bypass any of the chapters leading up the this grand finally. Obviously there is more to come.A Touch of Frost - Season 5

An unpolished Morse
Frost is an English policeman in a mid sized city who is an unpolished Morse. He is not neat, dislikes authority (comic
elements in both),but is clever, brave, lucky, and empthetic with victims. For nearly every episode he has a new police partner and girl friend (the woman sidekick in House Calls is particularly interesting). The acting, photography, music, and character development of the principals is excellent as usual. Set 5 has the "usual" 4 episodes (Set 4 is exceptional-5 episodes and an interview). All story lines are "grabbers"-I watched the whole set over 1 weekend.I did find 2 of the 3 disks unviewable in my oldest DVD player, but they were fine in my newest one.Frost's character continues to develop-in this set,we see him under investigation and writing a letter of resignation. Does he resign? I think not-there are still 5 more sets to come.A Touch of Frost - Season 5

Excellent Acting and in line with the previous series
If you've enjoyed the previous series then you will certainly enjoy this one. David Jayson's acting is very strong as of course are the other actors. The plot and story lines are all very well written out and the suspense build up is well embedded in each episode, especially 'penny for the guy'.A Touch of Frost - Season 5
