Amazon.com
This cluster of five music videos provides a capsule history of New Edition, originally a 1980s R&B-bubblegum phenomenon created by producer-songwriter Maurice Starr, who later went on to create New Kids on the Block. A boyish Bobby Brown and fellow Boston teens Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, and Ralph Tresvant--some of whom went on to become major solo stars--can all be seen here in smartly crafted, early videos for such Starr-penned hits as "Cool It Now" and "Mr. Telephone Man." (The latter finds the boys pleading with two confused repairmen because they can't call their girls.) Remaining videos reflect changes in New Edition: Johnny Gill replaces Brown on "If It Isn't Love," which focuses on sweaty rehearsals, and "Can You Stand the Rain," perhaps NE's first manly ballad. The suave "I'm Still in Love with You," possibly set in Venice, was shot during a 1996 reunion of original members plus Gill. --Tom Keogh

Another 20th Century Mistake, But for an Inexpensive Price...
Now, I'm sure when you think of New Edition, you can think of more than just 5 videos, depending how long you've been listening to there music! I would hope another company would think about re-realeasing a dvd for New Edition, because I think they deserve way better than this, a dvd for New Edition should feature videos from there childhood, the Heartbreak album,(the outro of Bobby Brown, and the intro of Johnny Gill) Bobby Brown's solo work and his first music videos,(King of the Stage, My Prerogative, etc) videos that are rarely, if never seen at all anymore! You also have Bell Biv DeVoe, Ralph, and Johnny's solo music videos, then the Home Again reunion music videos, videos that also could be added if a company also decided they wanted to make a real dvd collection, I'm sure it might be a little pricey, but I think it would be worth it!
I think in this case they just tried to take the most popular videos and just put those on the dvd, but in reality, not everyone wants to see the popular videos, people want to see rare or unreleased videos. I really hope a company does release a New Edition dvd with way more than 5 videos, then it can actually be called a collection. No music video dvd for New Edition, should only have a 20 minute run time!
"Would I recommend this to a etablished New Edition?" No, but if your now just starting to get into them, than maybe yes! I hope this helps you out!

The Worst Disappointment Ever
I believe I am one of the biggest fan of New Edition and I was so excited to discover there was a DVD collection of their videos. However I expected more than 5 little songs, New Edition has over a hundred songs and videos. The best of New Edition should be the best of New Edition. I hope management of New Edition reads review because I would like a true DVD collection of the best of New Edition20th Century Masters - The Best of New Edition: The DVD Collection
Hardly The Best of New Edition: The DVD Collection
You've got to be kidding me with this. Five count em five videos.. Granted all five are fantastic, but let's say you're a new comer to New Edition and this is what you got.. Wow what a disservice to the group. This DVD could of been great. You take 2 videos from there debut album 2 or 3 from the 2nd and so on.. Oh but wait, how about some videos of Bobby Brown, BBD, Ralph Tresvant, & Johnny Gill. New Edition is so much more than what this DVD has to offer. I have to say it's a shame that this thing is even out because it shows the lack of respect that this group deserves.. Just my 2cents...20th Century Masters - The Best of New Edition: The DVD Collection
5 VIDEOS? I thought this was supposed 2 b a collection!!!!
I give 5 stars to NEW EDITION and the videos themselves but come on! For a fan,the DVD is a HUGE disappointment. 5 five minute videos...are they serious? When a group with 12+ videos from their 7 album, 20 year career get a 25 minute DVD that's called a "collection" it's a joke! Not even Candy Girl(their FIRST video & hit)was important enough to make the cut? If the makers of the 20th Century Masters series on DVD are truly interested in honoring these artists, they should try to come a lot closer to a complete video history than this. For fans of a group as under-rated as New Edition, these videos plus the classic footage of the more rarely seen videos would make it a DVD to be cherished. This one is just a thrown together, incomplete version and does not even come close! It get's 2 stars: 1 star for the thought, 1 star for us to wish on for more!20th Century Masters - The Best of New Edition: The DVD Collection
Not for the fact
That i hated it. Because obviously i'm a New Edition fan, but come on. There only five videos on this one. They are good and everything, but there should be in my eyes at least 9 or 10 more NE videos in this. To be considered really the best of New Edition.
So if someone is listening and knows what's up please fix this. Not a bad buy, but could be a LOT better.20th Century Masters - The Best of New Edition: The DVD Collection
