Peter Bogdanovich directed this sensitive and moving story about a teenage boy, Rocky (Eric Stoltz), who lives with severe facial deformities and poor prognosis for survival beyond childhood. The film concentrates on that threshold-of-adulthood period familiar to past and present 16-year-olds, folding together common experiences of youth (love, hassles with mom, a desire to travel) with the special burdens endured by the hero. Stoltz, absolutely unrecognizable under lots and lots of prosthetic makeup, is quite good, as are Cher (as Rocky's mother) and Sam Elliott (Rocky's father figure). More than a tearjerker, the film is a genuine celebration of all that is most precious in life, even more to those who have nothing to take for granted. --Tom Keogh

Academy Award Winning Actress Cher in Mask
'Mask' is a wonderful movie. Great Story. I saw it again, not too long ago, on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) All the actors are great, From Cher, Eric Stoltz and Sam Elliott to all of the supporting players, including Estelle Getty as Cher's mother (RIP) --off topic, but I recently saw an interview of Cher's, where she was talking about her support of Hillary Clinton for President: Hillary Clinton went on to receive more votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in history.Mask (Special Edition)
All Wrong
This is a great movie but it was ruined for me when the music was changed from bob segers to bruce springsteens, springsteens music is not as good a match to the film as bob segers was.i will be selling this special version and getting the original.Mask (Special Edition)

Touching.
Mask is a deeply moving but has an edge to it as well. Cher is fantastic and Eric Stoltz is unrecognizable as Rocky. Sam Elliott is nice eye candy, just thought I'd include that little opinion, lol. Mask is hard to watch, this film is based on a true story so that's why the story is heartbreaking. I highly recommend this gorgeous and important film, enjoy!Mask (Special Edition)
