Makes you think?
This is one of the best anime that I have ever seen, it makes you think about life. This series has inspired me to change mine. It is a mixture of Ecological Awareness and Science Fiction. The story is good enough that a few times you forget that it is a anime series talking about ecology. It is definatly a farcry from the early 90's ecology cartoons.
This show is not lighted-hearted, it has many themes that would make it more approiate for mid-teens and older, nothing obsene or whatnot... just that younger children would not understand what is going on in the show.Arjuna - The Complete Collection
What a great story!
Poignant, timely, and well thought out. An anime with an important message about life in general. With a focus on the environment and human nature this anime tells the story of a young girl awakening and becoming more conscious. I thought this story would just be another fluffy mindless anime like I normally watch (yes, I like the mindless ones too). To my shock and pleasant surprise I found the commentary on our society to be blunt and extremely accurate. The author clearly spent a lot of time researching the issues to present human nature and nature itself with more precision than most activists programs. This anime will definitely give you something to think about. A must own whether you like anime or not. Frankly, this should be mandatory viewing for all humans! An Inconvenient Truth: The Anime
Remember those old black and white films they used to show during class. The kind that mimicked real entertainment but were really just there to give you a lesson. Well, even if you don't remember them you've probably seen them parodied in movies and television. The point is that they aren't very good. More thought is put into the lesson plan than any actual entertainment value.
Or maybe you've seen some pathetic excuse for a children's cartoon show that is nothing more than a supposed teaching tool. Like "Care Bears" was trying to teach kids to be nice to each other. (Or more to the point) Like "Captain Planet" tried to indoctrinate kids into be rabid environmentalists.
Thus is the anime Arjuna in the same vein. Tis a pity, because the animation, acting, music, ect. are top notch. But the story itself never rises above mere propaganda. Choosing a lesson plan over actual plot. A plot that might have worked well in a movie, or even an OAV series, but then the anime couldn't repeatedly pummel the viewer over the head with mindless philosophizing.
The sad thing is that most of the time it tends to come down to whether or not the viewer agrees with the hyper-environmentalist message. If they do; they give the anime 5 stars. If they don't; they give it far less. But that should just go to show you how intertwined the message is with the anime. There are plenty of anime shows and movies out there with just as fierce a message, but they are actually entertaining. And thusly can be enjoyed by all. Really Stupid Environmental Whacko Series
This series looks like it was written by someone trying to capitalize on the environmental movement. For instance, did you know that growing less food is better? Or that being sick is good for you? Arjuna learns these things.
The entire series has no redeeming features I could see. Arjuna's rise to power came out of nowhere, without any need to practice, know anything or for that matter even be human.
Every possible stupid idea was incorporated into this series from teenage sex to the wise old man who knows more than you do.
Take my advice and RUN from Arjuna.

You all are crazy
I aint typing a long review. But, this is probably one of the best animes you can get. The quality, story, animation, english dub voice actors(acting quality),it`s all there,and its one of the best.
Trust me this will leave you wanting more.
One more thing I forgot to add. Most children will give this a low grade because this is not a dragonball or bloody series. It's more based for the adult mind.Arjuna - The Complete Collection
